Stainless steel cartridges are designed to overcome the temperature and chemical compatibility limitations of fabric or synthetic fiber media. This will offer very high-temperature resistance & can even withstand high differential pressure. Stainless steel cartridges are offered in SS 304, SS 316, & SS 316 L materials. There are stainless steel wire mesh pleated filter element, stainless steel sintered mesh filter element, sintered felt filter element, powder sintered filter element, etc. These elements can be either plain cylindrical or in pleated configuration to increase filtration area. Usually, all stainless steel pleated & cylindrical filters are supported with coarser filter media to ensure no direct damage is inflicted to main filtering media under process upsets. A bubble point test can be done to certify that no opening larger than the specified pore size exist in product joints or seams. No media migration occurs due to stainless steel material. These elements can be back washed & reused.

Stainless steel wire mesh pleated filter element structure

The stainless steel pleated filter element is composed of the outer protective net, the middle stainless steel net and the filter net with twists and turns, the inner support tube, and the upper and lower end covers.
By changing the inner and outer structure of the filter element, different types and applications of stainless steel filter elements are designed.
Outer support mesh type:
The middle pleated layer:
The middle pleated layer generally consists of two layers, a layer of 20-mesh or 24-mesh protective net, and a filter layer. There are also three or more pleated layer.
Inner support tube:
